VOGUE FEBRUARY 1979 This issue includes the artsy photography of Chris Von Wangenheim. Von Wangenheim took Gia and a couple of other models out to the California desert
where he produced a fashion layout that still is an example of one of the finest
samples of advertising photography. I think it's rather ironic
that in several of the photos, the shadow of the helicopter over-head produces
a cross---an image that Gia would later use in a self-portrait while in rehab
at Eagleville Hospital. |
