VOGUE FEBRUARY 1979

This issue includes the artsy photography of Chris Von Wangenheim.  Von Wangenheim took Gia and a couple of other models out to the California desert where he produced a fashion layout that still is an example of one of the finest samples of advertising photography.    I think it's rather ironic that in several of the photos, the shadow of the helicopter over-head produces a cross---an image that Gia would later use in a self-portrait while in rehab at Eagleville Hospital.
