This is probably what got me ‘hooked’ on Gia and Angelina Jolie. Although the movie first aired in 1998, I never saw it until four years later. At that time, I did not really know who Gia was although I had seen her in magazine ads in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. And I had never seen Jolie in anything.

As far as Jolie is concerned, she is absolutely fabulous. However, her intense portrayal of Gia and it being my first Jolie experience, pretty much ruined all of her other movies for me. That is not to say I don’t like the others, it’s just that the other characters don’t even come close. Perhaps I feel that way because I am so drawn to Gia. I would never have tried to learn more about her had it not been for the movie. Please remember that the movie is not 'real.'
